MOVING NEW YORK

The most extensive transportation system in the world is crumbling. We need to invest in a transit infrastructure that enables us to meet our climate goals while considering our city’s future needs. Albany continues to fail us on transportation. It’s time to take control of our Subways and Buses and finally revitalize the transportation ecosystem. We need transit that is safe, reliable, and accessible to all. That requires solutions to provide access to people living in transportation deserts and remote regions with limited resources. We have to support sustainable outer-borough transportation by establishing the Tri-boro line, connecting The Bronx and Queens without requiring detours through Manhattan. We need to support low-income communities by guaranteeing access to affordable transportation through the Fair Fares program.

Our plan to Move New York:

•Expand bike lanes, connecting more existing routes

•Increase the number of bus-only lanes and busses to improve local bus service

•Support the Regional Unified Network (RUN) plan modifying existing transit proposals and making them more effective and maximizing their benefit

•Expand the PARK Smart NYC program to incentivize off-peak travel to reduce congestion

•Expand ADA accessibility by installing elevators and escalators across all NYC Subways and repair any existing ones that no longer function

•Eliminate Two Fare-Zones to guarantee that no New Yorker is paying more money because of limited access to transit in their neighborhood

•Support Congestion Pricing with peak rates
